THE IOST HIFDH-UL-QUR'AN ACADEMY GOAL:
EMPOWERING STUDENTS TO DEVELOP A LOVE FOR THE QUR'AN AND ITS MESSAGE
The Hifdh-ul-Qur’an Academy is an educational program of the IOST. During the day, students will enrich themselves in the Qur’an and reach their full potential in completing the memorization of the Qur’an with excellence, in a nurturing environment conducive to student learning, character building, and leadership development. Our hope is for our students to lead Taraweeh prayer and be exemplary role models for the Ummah.
Scheduling & Timings
Class Dates:
Classes will be held throughout the year, with small breaks during Federal Holidays and during Ramadan and Eid. Classes will be held for 12 months throughout.
Class Timings:
Classes are held Mondays thru Thursdays from 9 AM to 1:30 PM and on Fridays from 9 AM to 1 PM. There are no classes on Saturdays and Sundays at this time, but it is subject to change without notice.
Class Location:
The Hifdh-ul-Qur'an classes will be held at the Islamic Organization of Southern Tier, which is located at 161 Grand Ave, Johnson City, New York, 13790.
Fees & Pricing
Fee Structure:
Fees are based on a 12-month school year, from September 1 to August 31. Parents (or Students if over 21) will be required to submit annual fees prior to September 5 (or upon enrollment for new students) each year in order to keep their accounts current.
Tuition Plans:
IOST offers various tuition plans such as one time annual payments, on a month-by-month basis, quarterly basis, or semi-annually for this program. We expect students/parents to commit to the program until they complete their memorization, we do not penalize families if a student puts their learning on hold for a month or more, provided that parents request permission from the IOST Hifdh-ul-Qur'an Academy staff two weeks prior to any such temporary withdrawal, and any tuition suspension will be for one-month intervals beginning the 1st of the up-coming month. Monthly tuition will not be pro-rated for non-attendance.
Fees:
All fees are mandatory and non-refundable.
- Application/Registration Fee: $150 per student (new students only) due at enrollment.
- Uniform Fee: $60 per student due September 5.
- There are two tiers of fees:
- Tier 1: With Academics provided. This is for those who wish to also do schooling while doing Hifdh-ul-Qur'an. Tuition is set at $450 monthly.
- Tier 2: Without Academics. Students will memorize the Qur'an from 9 AM to 1:30 PM and parents will be responsible for their children's education. For this tier, tuition is set at $250 monthly.
- Please note that IOST has partnered with Bayaan Academy for academics. They will provide online instruction for all grades from 2 PM to 4 PM. Students will be picked up from Masjid at 1:45 PM and go home for academics. There will be no academic option offered on-site.
- Financial aid and sibling discounts are available. Please discuss with the Hifdh-ul-Qur'an staff for more details.
Enrollment Guidelines & Process
The IOST Hifdh-ul-Qur’an Academy is designed for the completion of the memorization of the Qur’an, and students are accepted into the program based on their motivation to achieve this commitment. There are no pre-requisites for knowing Arabic to get started with this program – (although one should have a basic level of Qur'an reading if possible) our teachers are equipped to help carry you through the entirety of this journey.
This program primarily accepts students ages 8 to 18. Anyone younger or older is accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Enrollment / Re-Enrollment
All enrollment is done via IOST's school portal which will be available through a sent link, once the applicant has met with the staff about the expectations and commitments needed. After receiving an online inquiry (through the form here - the family will be contacted for the next steps. Oral interviews with all prospective parents and students are also a mandatory part of the admissions process.
All admissions are subject to the Hifdh-ul-Qur'an Academy's Director’s approval.
All applicants will need to provide copies of a birth certificate/passport, Driver’s License (if over 16), along with medical and school history.

What happens after completing the Hifdh-ul-Qur'an?
Hifdh-ul-Quran Academy is a full-time program held at the Islamic Organization of the Southern Tier. Students will learn how to recite the Qur'an correctly and memorize new material each day. Our goal is for students to finish memorizing the entire Qur'an.
To enroll in the Hifdh-ul-Qur'an Academy, you will first submit an online interest form application. Once received, you will be contacted by someone from our team and will meet with us in person for an interview. Once completed, the applicant will be sent a link to the school portal where they can finalize their enrollment, submit the necessary paperwork and fees, and begin attending classes. contact our organization and inquire about the enrollment process.
The duration of the Hifdh-ul-Qur'an varies from student to student. It depends on factors such as the student's dedication, memorization abilities, and the time they can allocate to study. On average, it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 years to complete the memorization of the entire Quran.
The timings of the Hifdh-ul-Qur'an are from 9 AM to 1:30 PM Monday thru Friday. There will be a small break in the middle for students to have a snack and enjoy each other's company.
At 1:30 PM, students will be picked up from the masjid, and then will proceed to go home and complete their academics. This can be done either with parents homeschooling their children or via online instruction. IOST has partnered with Bayaan Academy to provide academics to those who wish from 2 PM to 4 PM.
Students will also be asked to memorize daily at home and spend around 1 to 1.5 hours in the evening memorizing Qur'an. The more a student memorizes, the faster they will be able to complete the memorization of the entire Qur'an, inshallah.
The IOST Hifdh-ul-Qur'an Academy follows a 12 month calendar. However, we do give students a break during all federal holidays, and Islamic holidays, and a small break during the summer. Please click here to see the full calendar.
Currently, IOST is accepting applications for boys only, ages 7 plus. Once there is interest from girls, we will inshallah start a girls' Hifdh-ul-Qur'an program as well. We do accept students on a case-by-case basis, once IOST has seen a commitment from the student and parent. For students who are adults and wish to memorize the Qur'an, we also encourage them to submit the interest form and meet with us to learn more.
After completing the Hifdh-ul-Qur'an, you will have the honorable achievement of having memorized the entire Quran. The IOST will inshallah give the student a certificate and diploma. You can continue to practice and refine your recitation skills and deepen your understanding of the Quranic teachings. Inshallah the IOST plans to offer higher Islamic education as well once the Hifdh-ul-Qur'an Academy is up and running.
