Below are some of our proposed milestones. Parking lot Pave the Back Parking Lot Improved parking facilities for better accessibility and convenience for all community members. Security system Upgrade Security System Enhanced security measures to ensure the safety and peace of mind of our congregation. Fundraising Successfully secure significant funding to enhance our masjid’s operations and services. We are looking to raise $350,000 for 2025. Programs & events Introducing more programs, Halaqahs, and community events to enrich spiritual growth and strengthen bonds. Quran Competition What is the date and time of the Qur’an Competition? The Qur’an Competition is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025. Specific timing details will be communicated closer to the event date. Mark your calendars for this exciting opportunity to showcase your Qur’anic recitation! Who can participate in the Qur’an Competition? The competition is open to boys and girls ages 5 and above. Additionally, adults are welcome to join under Group D. Participants from lower age groups are encouraged to join higher groups if they feel confident. We welcome everyone to join this enriching experience! What Surahs will be recited during the competition? Participants will be reciting the following Surahs based on their age groups:Group A (Ages 5–8 years): Surah AadiyaatGroup B (Ages 8–10 years): Surah A’laaGroup C (Ages 11–15 years): Surah NabaGroup D (All Ages): Surah Hujuraat No matter your age or experience level, there’s a category for everyone, and we look forward to hearing your recitation! Who are the judges for the competition? The competition will be judged by a panel of esteemed individuals:Imam Sofian Mayet: (Imam, IOST)Imam Shaker Ali: (IQRA Cultural Center Imam)Ustadh Ahmad Mohammad: (IOST Qur’an Teacher)Br. Abdullah Hussain: (Prayer Leader, Dubai House)Female judges: are to be determined. Our judges are knowledgeable and passionate about the Qur’an, ensuring a fair and uplifting evaluation process. What are the evaluation criteria for the participants? Participants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:Pronunciation: Accuracy in reading each letter according to the correct rules.Tajweed: Correctly stretching each word with precise nasal sounds.Memorization: Ability to recite the Surahs fluently and without mistakes.Beauty: The tone quality and the ability to embellish or sing the recitation. These criteria will help you understand what is expected while providing a pathway to enhance your skills! Are there any prizes for the winners? Yes, there will be exciting prizes awarded:1. Participation Gift: Every contestant will receive a participation gift as a token of our appreciation for their effort.2. Top Winners: The top 2 contestants from each group will receive trophies.3. Grand Prizes: A total prize pool of over $2,000 will be awarded to the winners, making this competition not just a showcase of talent, but also an opportunity for significant rewards.4. Award Ceremony: Winners will be announced during the celebration on the 27th Night of Ramadan.5. Private Recitation: Each participant will recite privately to the judges without an audience, ensuring a comfortable setting. Only the winners will be invited to recite publicly on the 27th Night. To prepare effectively, participants are encouraged to:Start Early: Begin memorizing as soon as possible to build confidence.Consistency: Dedicate time each day to read and review the chosen Surah for better retention.Listen: Utilize online resources such as YouTube to learn from skilled reciters for improved pronunciation and tajweed.Practice: Seek personalized assistance and refinement from Imam Anas or Imam Sofian whenever possible.
