The Islamic Organization of Southern Tier (IOST) is proud to announce the 2026 Qur’an Competition—and this year, we are truly opening the doors to everyone. Whether you are a toddler just starting out, a busy adult, or a senior, this is your invitation to connect with the Book of Allah.

From 4 to 64: We encourage every member of our community to join. It’s never too early—and never too late—to start!
Absolute Beginners: Don’t know any Surahs yet? That is okay! We have tracks specifically designed for entry-level learners. This is the perfect environment to begin your journey.
Supportive Environment: To ensure a comfortable experience, we will have separate female and male judges. Judge details will be announced shortly!

Group 1: Ages 4–6
Beginner: Surah Al-Asr
Advanced: Surah Al-Ma’un
Group 2: Ages 7–9
Beginner: Surah Al-Inshirah
Advanced: Last 3 Ayahs of Al-Baqarah
Group 3: Ages 10–12
Beginner: Ayat-Ul-Kursi
Advanced: Surah Al-Qiyamah
Group 4: Ages 13–15
Beginner: Surah Al-Layl
Advanced: Surah Al-Kahf (First 10 & Last 10 Ayahs only)
Group 5: Ages 16–64 (Adults)
Beginner: Surah Al-A’laa
Advanced: Surah Qaf
Group 6: Converts & Entry Level
Beginner: Surah Al-Kafirun
Advanced: Surah Al-Qari’ah

⚖️ THE FAIR PLAY RULE
To keep the competition fair: If you already know the Beginner level Surahs for your age group, please challenge yourself by joining the Advanced Track. Entering a level below your skill to gain an unfair advantage will lead to disqualification.
