WRISTBAND: $15/PERSON Spring Carnival & Expo Pricing Spring Carnival & Expo Summary The IOST Spring Carnival & Expo, held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, was a vibrant community event celebrating the arrival of warm weather. The event drew over 700 attendees and featured a wide array of attractions, including rides such as bungee jumping, bounce houses, and giant slides. A lively bazaar showcased approximately 30 vendors offering diverse goods, including food (smash burgers, grilled chicken, Carvel ice cream), clothing, plants, and baked goods from local bakeries. Real estate businesses also participated. Unique offerings included free haircuts. The event was made possible by the dedication of 30 volunteers who assisted with setup and cleanup, demonstrating strong community involvement. While the event resulted in a small financial loss, its primary objective was to foster community engagement, a goal that was successfully achieved through the diverse offerings and family-friendly atmosphere. The 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 Ramadan 𝗤𝘂𝗿’𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 hosted by the Islamic Organization of the Southern Tier (IOST) is open to 𝗯𝗼𝘆𝘀, 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀, 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 of 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 (starting at age 𝟱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘃𝗲). This competition provides an opportunity for community members to come together in pursuit of memorizing and reciting the Qur’an. Participants will recite privately to our panel of judges, ensuring a comfortable setting. They will be judged based on memorization, tajweed, and recitation. Winners will then have the honor of reciting publicly during the 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻! 📖𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗵𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽: Prepare and memorize the Surah assigned to your age group: – 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗔 (𝗔𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝟱–𝟴): Surah Aadiyaat – 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗕 (𝗔𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝟴–𝟭𝟬): Surah A’laa – 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗖 (𝗔𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝟭𝟭–𝟭𝟱): Surah Naba – 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗗 (𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝘀 – 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀): Surah Hujuraat All participants are welcome participate in a higher-group level if they feel confident. 🎯 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮: Judges will evaluate based on these criteria: 👉 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: How each letter is read according to tajweed rules. 👉 𝗧𝗮𝗷𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗱: Proper articulation, nasal sounds, and word elongation. 👉 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Smooth, error-free recitation with fluency. 👉 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘆: Tone, melody, and the ability to beautify your recitation.
